Applebee's International, Inc. is the leader in the casual dining segment of the United States restaurant marketplace. The company franchises and operates more than 1,100 restaurants under the Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar name, about a quarter of which it owns. The eateries offer moderately priced, high-quality food and drink for all ages in a friendly, informal atmosphere. Applebee's is continuing to expand, with 1,800 outlets the company's stated goal. BIG APPLE BURGER

Applebee's Copycat Recipe















Two grilled half-pound patties covered with double the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese then topped with four slices of bacon, red onion, lettuce, tomato and a creamy horseradish sauce

SERVES 1

For the Burger
1 pound of lean hamburger
2 slices Cheddar cheese
2 slices Monterey Jack cheese
4 slices of cook bacon
shredded lettuce
2 slices tomato
2 - 3 slices of red onion
1 extra large roll

For the Sauce

1/2 cup mayo
1 Tbsp. horseradish
2 Tbsp. white vinegar
1 tsp. water
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. ketchup
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. dried oregano
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp. dash garlic powder
1/8 tsp. dash onion powder

MAKE THE SAUCE
Mix all ingredients, flavors will enhance as it sits. Delicious with deep friend onions and other vegetables or deep fried meats such as shrimp.

FOR THE BURGER
Divide the meat into two large patties.  Season to taste and grill or fry until done.
Add two slices of cheese to each patty. (1 of each kind) Cover with a lid to help the cheese melt.

BUILD THE BURGER
Cover the top and the bottom of the bun with the sauce.
Starting at the bottom add:
lettuce
tomato
onion
2 patties
bacon
bun top

Grab some napkins and prepare for a nap.  This is one monster burger.
